A complete address pasted into Street can look convincing while leaving City and State empty. Start with the destination schema, not the visual appearance of the address. Country tools are useful because they expose individual values that can be mapped deliberately.
Set up a focused test
Use a fictional record with street “42 Example Road”, city “Demo City” and region “Example Region”. Map street to Address Line 1, put an optional apartment in Line 2, and keep city and region separate. These names illustrate field boundaries; they are not a postal reference. If the destination has County as well as State, inspect its documentation before assigning a value.
Run the checks
- Write a source-to-destination mapping for every field.
- Copy one field at a time and submit the form.
- Reopen the saved record and compare each value.
- Export the record and check that city and region have not merged.
Interpret the result
A successful save only proves that the application accepted the fields. If delivery verification is part of the product, test that separately with the provider’s documented fixtures. Use the country generator for a synthetic baseline, then retain the exact record with your test case.
Open the related address tool to prepare synthetic examples for your test.
